Establish Expectations

New employees tend to arrive with a blank slate. They are open to a range of company cultures, but they will soon start seeking cues as to how they should operate as a member of your company. Take advantage of this where possible. Set some ground rules and let them know what expectations you have from the start. Do you want to have a culture of shared responsibility? Do you want to explore problem-solving? Decision making? If yes, then it is important that you convey this. A good leader will always communicate their values from the start, so team members know what they are signing up for.

Respect your Team

It is so important that you show your team respect.  At work, you really do want your team to feel like they are part of the company, but you also need to have some perspective. They are all individuals and they have stories of their own. They have gotten this far without you and they will probably have quite a varied life when they leave work. If you can, get to know them as people and also make sure that you respect them for their unique gifts.

Team building is so important. Great leaders know that not every employee is motivated by the same thing. Some seek healthy competition and others like to work toward their own goals. Either way, if you can understand the way your employees work then this will help you out quite a lot in the future.

Use Positivity

It is so important that you motivate with positivity. Great leaders understand that it is much better to enforce positive reinforcement rather than using negative punishment. Resist the urge to criticize and also make sure that you do not focus on people’s mistakes. If you can do this then you will soon find that you can get the result you are going for and that you can also help everyone to bond.
