Updated My Resource Page

Some of you may know that I started out blogging and creating resources over at www.studentlinc.net. It’s a student leadership site I created that provides articles, tools, and resources for both student leaders and those who work with them.

I’ve been transitioning some of my writing and resources from that site to this one. Today, I moved a number of files over to here and listed them on my Resource page. Everything I brought over is in the form of a free, downloadable PDF file. Here is what I added with a brief description of each one:

Being Grateful

I spoke on the topic of gratitude yesterday.

I think it’s one thing to be able to say thankful things. It’s a whole new level when one is able to live a thankful life. I’m still working on it.

I came up with a little bit of a homework assignment for those who were present (note…some people show up and some people are truly present). The assignment had two parts with an introduction.


Wanted to post a quick update for those of you who are interested in my progress with P90X. Today is Day #9 and I have been very faithful to the workout portion of this thing.

Last week, I was speaking up at the Northwest District (Nazarene) High School Camp. Let’s just say that camp food and the nutritional requirements of P90X don’t go hand in hand. I did my best though. I packed a bunch of protein bars and meal replacement bars. I even invited some of the campers to do Yoga X with me, but there were no takers (smart campers).

Today I (sort of) started P90X.

While I’d love to show you some of the “before” pics I’ve taken, I think I’ll save them for a later post that includes some “after” shots of a better looking version of me.

I spent the last few days getting ready to embark on this journey. In fact, as I went through some of the pre-tests to see what kind of shape I was in, I quickly discovered that I currently can’t use the word “shape” when describing my physical condition.

The program recommends that I start out with the Power 90 workout. Thus, when I said I am sort of starting P90X I meant that I’m not into the 90X part of it yet. That will more than likely start next Monday.

I did the Power 90 workout yesterday and today. I’d like to rename it Power Sweat or Power Gasping For Air. The workout makes me happy/sad. Happy that I’m doing this…sad that I’m not doing it very well.
